Senior US economist Brett Ryan from Deutsche Bank Securities warns that Hurricane Milton, expected to cause up to $121 billion in damages in Florida, may distort employment data and lead to a significant increase in initial jobless claims, potentially reaching around 240,000. He highlights that other economic indicators, such as the purchasing managers' index and oil production, could also be affected in the coming weeks.
