Netflix Wins Shareholder Lawsuit over Subscriber Growth Claims

Reported about 4 hours ago

Netflix has successfully dismissed a shareholder lawsuit that accused the company of underestimating the impact of account sharing on subscriber growth. The case arose after Netflix reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers in early 2022, marking its first decline in a decade. A U.S. District Judge ruled that statements made by Netflix regarding its market penetration were not false or misleading, stating that account sharing was just one of many factors affecting growth. The plaintiff cannot amend the complaint after this dismissal.
