Pony.ai, a Guangzhou-based autonomous driving company, is planning to launch robotaxi services in Hong Kong, aiming to compete with Baidu. The company intends to initially serve airport staff at Hong Kong International Airport before expanding to other urban areas. Pony.ai has previously secured robotaxi licenses in multiple Chinese cities and is also exploring operations in South Korea, Luxembourg, and the Middle East.
