World Bank President Ajay Banga emphasized the importance of increasing electricity access to unlock Africa's demographic potential. He proposed a $85 billion investment plan aiming to provide power to 300 million people by 2030, as part of the 'Mission 300' initiative. This initiative seeks to address the fact that nearly half of sub-Saharan Africa’s population lacks electricity, which hampers education and economic opportunities. Banga highlighted the necessity for African governments to adapt regulations to facilitate private investments in return for international financial support.
