U.S. Seeks Improved Access to South Korean Market, Says Trade Minister

Reported about 6 hours ago

The United States has called for enhanced access to the South Korean market, especially in agriculture and technology, according to South Korea's trade minister. During a recent trip to Washington, Minister Cheong In-kyo requested tariff exemptions from his U.S. counterpart amid upcoming tariff announcements expected on April 2. He highlighted issues such as sanitary measures and technology regulations as barriers to market access, particularly concerning U.S. beef, which has been subject to restrictions since 2008 due to health concerns.
