President Trump has introduced new measures to alleviate the pressure of 25% tariffs on vehicles and auto parts for domestic automakers. This move aims to encourage more production within the U.S. and seeks to negotiate lower trade barriers with other countries. The order exempts U.S. assembled vehicles from additional tariffs while still imposing existing tariffs on Chinese goods. Additionally, a temporary credit for U.S. assembled vehicles will facilitate duty-free parts imports, excluding those from China.
