Sunoco is set to purchase the Canadian gas station and convenience store chain Parkland in a deal valued at about $9.1 billion, which will enhance its presence in North America. Parkland operates around 4,000 locations globally and will retain its Calgary headquarters. Shareholders will receive a mix of cash and stocks as compensation, and the deal is expected to finalize in the latter part of the year, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals.
