The UK government is set to unveil new measures aimed at increasing electric vehicle (EV) sales as part of its initiative to phase out polluting car sales. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander announced plans to provide incentives, including potential subsidies totaling up to £700 million, to make the switch to EVs more affordable for consumers. Additionally, there will be a £63 million investment to enhance charging infrastructure and a £2.5 billion program to assist automakers in producing zero-emission vehicles, addressing current consumer concerns about EV costs and charging availability.
