Canadian retailer Alimentation Couche-Tard has withdrawn its proposal to acquire Japan's Seven & i Holdings Co., the parent company of 7-Eleven, citing frustration over unproductive negotiations. The company had made an offer of 2,600 yen per share earlier this year, which it characterized as a generous premium, but expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of constructive dialogue and key information from Seven & i. Despite this setback, Seven & i stated it remains committed to its own value creation strategy.
