Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), a U.S.-based grain merchant, is shutting down its pet food plant in Tres Corações, Brazil, following the decision announced on July 15. The closure is part of ADM's broader strategy to streamline its operations and reduce costs, including laying off hundreds of workers over the next few years. The company had been seeking to sell the facility for about a year without success. Despite the closure, ADM continues to operate another animal nutrition factory in Brazil.
