Tesla has opened its first showroom in India, but many of its early loyalists, who had waited years for this moment, feel disappointed and underwhelmed. Some have even decided against purchasing a Tesla after struggling to get refunds on reservations they made nearly a decade ago. Factors such as high pricing, lack of communication, and changing perceptions of Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk are causing former supporters to seek alternatives in a growing electric vehicle market dominated by local manufacturers.
