In August 2025, BYD faced a second consecutive month of production declines, marking the first such occurrence since 2020. The Chinese electric vehicle leader manufactured 353,090 vehicles, down 3.78% year-on-year, following a 0.9% decrease in July. Sales in China decreased by 14.3%, contributing to concerns that BYD may not meet its annual target of 5.5 million units, leading to a lowered sales forecast by analysts. The company's overall quarterly profit also fell for the first time in over three years.
