Amazon Web Services plans to invest at least $5 billion in South Korea by 2031 to establish new AI data centres, supporting the country's goal of becoming an AI hub in Asia. This announcement was made during a meeting between AWS CEO Matt Garman and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the APEC summit, where multiple global firms pledged a total of $9 billion in investments. AWS aims to enhance South Korea's AI ecosystem and has previously outlined a $4 billion investment for the largest data centre in Ulsan.
