Starbucks announced a joint venture with Boyu Capital, resulting in a sale of a 60% stake in its China operations for $4 billion. While Boyu acquires the majority interest, Starbucks maintains a 40% stake and will continue to own the brand. This partnership aims to enhance growth in smaller Chinese cities as Starbucks faces competition from local coffee startups. The deal, which values Starbucks' China business over $13 billion, is expected to be finalized in early 2026.
