Nintendo has reported a remarkable 85% increase in net profit for the first half of the fiscal year, reaching 198.9 billion yen ($1.3 billion) as sales soared to nearly 1.1 trillion yen ($7.1 billion), following the June launch of its successful Switch 2 console. The company raised its profit forecast for the year and expects to sell 19 million Switch 2 units. While there was a decline in sales of the older Nintendo Switch, game sales remained strong thanks to compatibility with the new console. Analysts predict continued strong performance for Nintendo as the holiday season approaches.
