Former Taoyuan Mayor and Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation Cheng Wen-tsang is suspected of violating the Anti-Corruption Act, with the court recently ruling a 5 million New Taiwan Dollar bail. KMT Chairman Eric Chu questioned the timing of the investigation, as the case dates back 7 years. Chu emphasized the need for clarification from relevant authorities, while attending a parliamentary reform briefing event in Yunlin.
