A trader at Danske Bank has successfully capitalized on Lebanon's defaulted dollar bonds, which have nearly doubled in less than three months due to political shifts in the region, particularly following the fall of Syrian dictator Bashar Al-Assad. Soeren Moerch, the fund manager, believes that a weakened Hezbollah may lead to more market-friendly policies in Lebanon, further boosting bond values. Despite the bonds’ current default status and the ongoing economic crisis in Lebanon, investors are optimistic about future improvements.
