Domestic Banks Do Not Pay Interest Below 100 Yuan: Making Money from Interest Rates Harder

According to the latest announcement from the Bankers Association, 17 out of 38 national banks in Taiwan have implemented a strategy where interest is only calculated once it reaches 100 yuan, with the remainder disregarded. Some banks even have a 5000 yuan interest calculation threshold. This change has been suggested to reduce operational costs, and it is recommended for savers to consolidate their deposits for better interest earnings.
