Recent heavy rainfall in several areas of Shandong, China, resulted in Jinan receiving an average rainfall of 88.1 mm, equivalent to nearly 700 Daming Lakes, while Linyi city turned into a water-covered city with roads submerged and residents stranded in their vehicles awaiting rescue. Numerous areas in Linyi resembled 'Venice' due to severe flooding, with roads turned into rivers and vehicles trapped in deep water. The local meteorological center issued red alerts for heavy rain, and Jinan also experienced intense rainfall with the city receiving water equivalent to almost 700 Daming Lakes.
