Robinhood has launched tokenized stocks, allowing European investors to trade blockchain-based representations of traditional stocks. These digital tokens mimic the price movements of their real-world counterparts and offer liquidity and 24/5 trading. However, they don't provide the same ownership rights as traditional stocks, such as voting rights or dividend payments. While Robinhood aims to expand this offering to U.S. investors soon, regulatory hurdles remain. Tokenized stocks could significantly transform access to both public and private equity markets for retail investors.
