On July 7th, a high observation platform pole in Jinmen was suspected to have self-ignited due to the scorching weather, but the fire was quickly extinguished. Temperatures soared across Taiwan, with Pingtung measuring 39°C, New Taipei City 37.8°C, Miaoli, Hualien, and Taipei over 37°C, and Tainan reaching 36.9°C. Despite the heat, a festive atmosphere in Yujing, Tainan attracted visitors for mango desserts, leading to traffic issues. The weather bureau forecasts continued high temperatures with possible thunderstorms during the afternoons. Residents are advised to stay alert due to the potentially intense weather conditions.
