On July 7, 2024, Cheng Wen-tsang was implicated in a corruption case and detained by the prosecution, with the female judge presiding over the remand hearing at the Taoyuan Court turning out to be Cheng's former subordinate's daughter. Ling Tuo expressed anger and disbelief, stating that it was outrageous for the judge to not recuse herself and release Cheng. Cheng, who was involved in corruption during his tenure as Taoyuan Mayor, has shocked Taiwan. The judge's father has a close relationship with Cheng, having served as Cheng's Political Ethics Division chief when Cheng was the Director of the Information Bureau and later joining the municipal government as the Political Ethics Department Director until retirement. Ling Tuo criticized the situation online, questioning the judge's impartiality and expressing concerns over the handling of the high-profile case involving Cheng's corruption allegations.
