According to the latest financial report published by the Ministry of Finance, among 188,400 estate tax declarations made last year, 176,900 were tax-free, but 698 cases had estates worth over 100 million New Taiwan dollars, which are considered high-tax cases. The total value of the estates subject to actual taxation amounted to 217.7 billion NTD, with an average estate value of 312 million NTD per case. The report also revealed that the number of tax-exempt estate cases was the highest in a year since 2016. The report further detailed different tax rates for estates of varying values.
