Power Outage in Changhua for 8 Hours Twice! Residents Claim Seeing Squirrels, Taipower Says It's Due to Strong Winds

Reported about 1 year ago

Changhua County experienced two consecutive unexpected power outages within 8 hours, affecting 1562 households in Puxin Township this morning, following a larger outage involving 2036 households in Tianzhong Town and Shetou Township the night before. Taiwan Power Company explained the incidents as being caused by damaged power equipment from strong wind and an underground line switch malfunction. Despite claims from residents of seeing squirrels on power lines before the outage, Taipower clarified that the outages were not related to the squirrels but rather to weather-related factors. After repairs, power was fully restored.
