A study by the Tax Justice Network and Oxfam revealed that Germany has lost over 380 billion euros in tax revenue by halting property tax since 1996, equivalent to around 80% of the country's annual budget. The study also highlighted how the wealthiest individuals in Germany have increased their wealth by approximately 460 billion euros since 2001. Despite concerns about tax evasion, the study concludes that reintroducing property tax in Germany is not only feasible but also urgently needed to ensure fair taxation.
