Rider's Leg Fractured in a Collision with New Taipei Garbage Truck Making Sudden Turn

A 23-year-old man surnamed Lien in New Taipei City drove a private garbage truck and made a sudden U-turn without using turn signals on Sanhua Street in Sanchong District early on July 7. This caused a 73-year-old man surnamed Yang riding a motorcycle behind him to crash into the truck, breaking his right shinbone. Yang was rushed to Taipei Mackay Memorial Hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition. The police are investigating the incident further to determine the exact cause of the accident. Lien faces fines for not using turn signals while turning.
