A civic group has initiated the recall of Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang and has submitted the second-stage petition. Proponents led by 'Battle Blue' founder Zhao Shaokang, along with several Kuomintang legislators and councilors, visited Keelung to support Xie Guoliang. They caution former Keelung Mayor Lin Youzhang not to shift focus and risk becoming another Zheng Wencan. The support for Xie Guoliang comes amidst controversies regarding the East Coast Mall and allegations of improper business practices during the Lin administration. Xie Guoliang's administration focuses on creating a more pedestrian-friendly city and fostering a vibrant music scene. Despite media attacks, he remains confident in his work and the support of the people in Keelung.
