Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council Chairman Zheng Wencan, who was involved in corruption during his time as the mayor of Taoyuan, has resigned from his position. Zheng was recently appointed on June 7 and has already stepped down due to allegations of accepting bribes during a land development project. Despite being released on bail, Zheng emphasized his commitment to integrity and stated he would defend his innocence throughout the judicial process. His resignation aims to prevent any impact on the team's policy implementation. The successor for the position has not yet been announced.
