On July 6, at the construction site of the fifth phase factory building of Fuh Mao Technology in Douliu City, Yunlin County, a scaffolding collapse accident resulted in two deaths and three injuries among passing employees. The husband and eldest son of the 46-year-old victim expressed their shock and disbelief, with the son mentioning that his mother had lost vital signs even before arriving at the hospital. Following the incident, the Labor Inspection Bureau found that the scaffolding used did not meet national standards for construction materials, leading to the collapse. The bureau immediately ordered a stoppage of work and fined the responsible construction company, Kyumok Construction, 300,000 under the Labor Safety and Health Act. Further investigations and legal actions are pending to determine accountability for the tragedy.
