Vivendi SE's shareholders have overwhelmingly approved a plan to spin off three major units—Canal+, Havas, and Louis Hachette Group—during a general meeting in Paris. The companies will be separately listed starting December 16, allowing Vivendi to focus on its stakes in Universal Music and Telecom Italia. The spinoff is expected to enhance value for investors by reducing conglomerate discounts, despite some lingering concerns about governance and performance ahead of the splits.
