TVBS News Network reported on July 17, 2024, at 8:21 am that although Apple is set to launch its latest model, the iPhone 16, in September, there are concerns about its availability in Taiwan due to the National Communications Commission (NCC) facing a potential paralysis with the completion of Chairman Chen Yaoxiang and Vice Chairman Weng Bozong's terms in July following the approval of the amendment to the NCC Organization Act by the Legislative Yuan. With only 3 members left in NCC from August, the lack of a quorum may lead to delays in the certification process and could impact the iPhone 16 launch.
