BYD plans aggressive expansion in Vietnam with more car models

Reported 3 months ago

Chinese electric vehicle company BYD is set to open its first stores in Vietnam and aims to have around 100 dealerships by 2026. They will start with three car models, including the Atto 3 compact crossover, expanding to six by October. Although BYD initially plans to import all models, there were previous talks about building a factory in Vietnam. The company aims to optimize these plans. The Atto 3 will be priced at 766 million dong, slightly higher than the starting price of VinFast's VF 6. VinFast, a local rival, is transitioning to electric vehicles but has had less success in the market compared to BYD.
