The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office concluded its investigation into the Mega Rich fund-raising case, where the company illegally sold overseas financial products promising high returns of 8% to 15%, amassing over NT$13 billion from 800 victims. The company's executives, including founder Zeng Kuiming, are facing charges for violating multiple laws, with co-founder Liu Jinhua currently at large. The scam involved setting up accounts in Hong Kong, promising low-risk investments, but victims were unable to recover their funds by 2023. The total amount of illegally obtained funds exceeds NT$13 billion, with NT$1.3 billion already confiscated by authorities.
