The National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy Committee will meet on July 25, 2024, in Taiwan, to discuss various strategies regarding climate change. The vice convener, Academia Sinica President Liao Jun-chi, emphasized that nuclear energy is not the sole focus of the discussion. The committee aims to approach the issue rationally and practically while exploring a range of actions and strategies Taiwan can undertake in response to global climate change trends. The government also acknowledges the importance of diversifying energy sources, including exploring clean renewable options such as wind, hydrogen, and geothermal power, in addition to nuclear energy considerations.
