In Hsinchu Guanpu branch of Chun Cui He, a female employee on July 14 poured saliva into her hand and grabbed pearls to make a drink after a customer placed an order before closing, which sparked controversy when she shared the video online. The branch was terminated by the headquarters and could face legal consequences. Internet-famous lawyer Ba Mao analyzed that the employee's outcome is 'no need for compensation if an apology is issued'. The branch was ordered to cease operation, and the lawyer estimated potential losses to reach 'million dollar claims.' After the incident was publicized, netizens speculated that even if the employee is fined, the franchise owner may not receive any money. In response, Ba Mao suggested that 'she may never have a normal job for her life, or her salary might be deducted'.
