Kuomintang Legislator's Aunt Indicted for Fraud and Money Laundering, Xu Qiaoxin Still Accused in Fraud and Corruption Cases

Kuomintang legislator Xu Qiaoxin's aunt, Liu Xiangjie, along with her husband Du Bingcheng, Lin Yulun, and a woman surnamed Wu, have been indicted for allegedly laundering money for a fraud group, involving 53 victims and a total of 27.01 million NT dollars. Meanwhile, Xu Qiaoxin is still accused in separate cases of fraud and corruption, and investigations are ongoing. The fraud operation involved converting scam funds into virtual currency through a complex process to conceal the illegal proceeds' source and destination. The case has been brought to trial in Taipei with some defendants remaining in custody and others released on bail with restrictions.
