Lai Ching-te expresses appreciation to Green Caucus members; Lo Chih-chiang not surprised: Lai has never been good at 'broad vision'

Reported 3 months ago

President Lai Ching-te commented that the recently concluded first session of the 11th Legislative Yuan was challenging, yet his Facebook post only acknowledged the hard work of Democratic Progressive Party members in the legislature. In response, Legislator Lo Chih-chiang stated that Lai's leadership lacks broad vision, while Legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin pointed out that Lai is merely the DPP chairman, not the president. Lai highlighted the legislative achievements of the session, including bills on pedestrian safety, anti-fraud laws, child protection, small business development, marine conservation, and sports assistance for the disabled. Moving forward, Lai emphasized the administration's focus on driving the economy, improving welfare, and safeguarding health. However, Lo criticized Lai's lack of broad vision while Hsu noted the disparity between Lai and former President Tsai Ing-wen, emphasizing Lai's role as DPP chairman rather than president.
