On July 17, 2024, at 10:58 AM, the Military Arsenal Bureau's 209th Factory revealed the P3 and P4 prototype vehicles of its self-developed reconnaissance tactical wheeled vehicles under the codenamed 'Iron Rider Project.' These vehicles underwent testing at the Air Force Antiterrorism and Training Center in Pingtung Jialuotang. The vehicles, resembling the U.S. military's Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV), weigh 7.5 tons, are equipped with an AGM 8-cylinder diesel engine, have a maximum road speed of 100 km/h, and can carry a crew of four members. The testing included off-road driving on gravel terrain, live firing of a 12.7mm remote-controlled machine gun turret, and firing of smoke grenades. The 209th Factory plans to complete the tactical evaluation by October this year.
