The Legislative Yuan passed the amendment to the National Communications Commission (NCC) Organization Act, changing the commissioner's reappointment rules to a 4-year term with only one reappointment allowed, and removing the transitional provisions for former commissioners. Former Legislator Guo Zhengliang expressed concern over the implications, warning that the amendment essentially removes the NCC's licensing review power, which could lead to a power struggle with President Lai Ching-te. Guo highlighted Lai's approach in ruling and predicted potential retaliatory legislative actions from the blue and white coalition if tensions continue to escalate.
