The prosecutors are seeking heavy sentences and confiscation of over 250 million yuan of criminal proceeds. Yang has expressed regret and claimed innocence, stating that he has always abided by the law and never accepted any illegal benefits. He criticized the prosecution for relying on one-sided and indirect reasoning in the charges, which he believes lacks direct evidence and raises doubts about judicial practices.
