In July 2022, allegations of sexual abuse at a private Taipei kindergarten emerged, but the city government took a year to respond. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, who was not in office at the time, has committed to reviewing the Education Bureau's handling of the case and is directing Vice Mayor Lin Yi-hua to develop improvement plans to ensure such incidents are better managed in the future.
