Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) reported a staggering loss of NT$226.5 billion in 2022, primarily due to rising international fuel prices linked to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which doubles the fuel costs from the previous year. The Control Yuan has urged Taipower to better communicate its cost structures and operational issues, as well as to devise effective strategies for improving its financial health, where its liabilities are expected to reach 97.25% by the end of 2024. This situation raises concerns about the company's management effectiveness, negatively impacting its reputation and the well-being of its employees.
