The chairman of the Tainan District Fishermen's Association, Lin Shijie, who was shot dead in front of his home over 10 days ago, had a low-key funeral without a public service. However, the case progressed as police brought back two individuals suspected of being involved in the purchase of the first vehicle used in the crime from the Kaohsiung-Pingtung area. With more developments emerging, the investigation aims to unravel the case step by step. Family members including Lin Yiting, a pregnant councilor and Lin's daughter, bid him a tearful farewell at the funeral, attended by over 100 individuals including Tainan City Council Speaker Qiu Lili and former DPP Central Standing Committee member Guo Zaiqin, hoping for further breakthroughs in the case.
