In the case of the Taichung stabbing incident on May 21 that shocked the nation, the 20-year-old suspect surnamed Hong was indicted on charges including attempted murder. During the preparatory court session today, Hong admitted his guilt, tearfully expressing that he's 'not a good person,' apologizing to his parents and wanting to return to being an ordinary person by their side. He apologized to the long-haired victim and others on the train, with the victim revealing ongoing recovery from his injuries. Hong's parents attended court, and despite initially not showing a willingness to reconcile with the victims, they expressed their inner thoughts, prompting a mediation process to be arranged by the Taichung District Court.
