Indonesian immigration authorities in Bali recently arrested 103 foreign nationals suspected of cyber crimes, initially reported to include 14 Taiwanese nationals but later found to be all Taiwanese citizens. Over 400 phones and computers were confiscated. Indonesian officials plan to deport these individuals promptly. The Taiwanese representative office hopes to have the Taiwanese nationals returned to Taiwan as per usual practice. The arrests took place in a villa where the individuals were temporarily detained for violations of residence and cybercrime laws, with evidence such as phones, computers, printers, generators, and proof of illegal activities targeting outside Indonesia being seized.
