The Criminal Investigation Bureau received a report from the Indonesian Immigration Office about several Taiwanese nationals apprehended in Bali on June 26, suspected of engaging in activities inconsistent with their entry permits and allegedly defrauding Malaysian Chinese. Amid respecting Indonesia's judicial sovereignty, Taiwan sent personnel to Indonesia to repatriate 11 indicted individuals and exchange criminal information. The Bureau emphasizes the determination to combat transnational crimes, intensifying efforts to track down fugitives and establishing intelligence sharing and joint defense mechanisms with law enforcement agencies worldwide. It advises caution for Taiwanese working abroad, warning against illegal activities that could result in prosecution by local and home countries.
