12 counties and cities hit 37℃! Afternoon thunderstorms continue, with heavier rain expected next week for 2 days

Reported about 1 year ago

Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau issued high-temperature alerts, with 12 counties and cities likely to see temperatures reaching 36℃ or higher, prompting precautionary measures. The next two days across Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu will be cloudy to sunny, with sporadic brief showers in the southeast and Hengchun Peninsula. Localized thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon in Greater Taipei, central, northeastern, and eastern Taiwan, with a chance of heavy rain in mountainous areas. Weather experts predict increased humidity next week due to the influence of a South China Sea tropical disturbance, with continued hot temperatures and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. The likelihood of the disturbance developing into a tropical low-pressure system has been reduced to 20%, with a less than 5% chance of intensifying into a 'minor typhoon.'
