Apple Settles Siri Eavesdropping Lawsuit for $95 Million

Reported 2 days ago

Apple has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a lawsuit claiming that Siri eavesdropped on iPhone users without their consent for over a decade. The lawsuit alleges that Siri was activated secretly to record conversations, which were sometimes shared with advertisers. Although Apple maintains it did no wrong, the settlement will allow eligible consumers who owned Siri-enabled devices from September 2014 to seek compensation—up to $20 per device—if the settlement is approved by a judge.
