CMA CGM Postpones Container Surcharge for US East Coast

Reported 2 days ago

CMA CGM is delaying the implementation of a peak-season container surcharge on cargo from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to the US East Coast, moving the start date from January 1 to January 15. This postponement comes amid ongoing informal negotiations between the International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance. Additionally, a new surcharge for containers moving from the Mediterranean will be introduced effective January 18, with specific fees outlined for different container sizes.
