Mortgage rates have risen to nearly 7% as the average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage reached 6.91%, up from 6.85% a week prior, marking the highest levels since July. Despite the challenging affordability conditions for buyers, housing contract signings saw an increase in November. However, mortgage demand has sharply declined in the final week of 2024 due to high rates and seasonal market slowdowns.
